In this album: Lee Ann

Lee Ann
Lee Ann was probably the very first model that I was able to use strobes and the first model that I was able to shoot. More than a year after, I'm glad I was able to have another opportunity to take photos of her.

Cinematica

17 November 2010

For the longest time, I have been saying that I don't like using strobes or flashes. It was in a recent workshop that I attended where I realized, that it was not ambient lighting that I preferred. I preferred photographs with a great play of lights and shades. A photograph that would seem like it was taken from a movie would catch my attention more than just a simple sharp and well-exposed photograph. As the term I have adopted a few months before would connote "chiaroscuros".

Pan de Amerikana: is the place to be.

16 November 2010

A few months back, a friend of mine and I were looking for places where we could just hang around and shoot. Many places today require permits and fees for a small group of people to use their facilities to shoot, even public places. While browsing through Google, I came upon a list of interesting places that could be used as a venue for photoshoots. And it listed Pan de Amerikana in Marikina as a great place to use.

Memories of Jollibee and the ER: of how a simple act (or a great one) can turn the mood around

11 November 2010

...
Everyday is a miracle
People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle.
But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin
air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle
which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green
leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes.
All is a miracle.

-=Thich Nhat Hanh=-

My memories of Jollibee would alway be linked to an event that happened to me in my 1 year stint in the Emergency Room. It was a typical day of toxicity and a never-ending stream of patients. As the day wore on there was less and less available beds and more and more irritable people. That was still a few hours before noon.

Chase Jarvis: On Travel and Packing Gears

08 November 2010

Chase Jarvis gives a view of the gears he use and usually brings. I'm used to seeing a closet full of bags and being a bag person myself, its a closet (or shelves) I'd wish I would have.

Just another rainbow

07 November 2010

Intangible
At the end of a rainbow. Pulo, Tanza, Navotas.
The true harvest of my life is intangible - a little star dust caught, a portion of the rainbow I have clutched.
-=Henry David Thoreau=-
I am presently going through my 'stuck' (yes, literally stuck, not stock) photos,
looking for photos to submit for monthly entries to my Pinay Shutters photo group.

de-Coffee-nated

04 November 2010

...
Starbucks Coffee
It runs through my circulatory system, it is the drug that keeps me going... caffeine. I've learned to drink coffee when I entered medicine. Although not as addicted to it as I was before, it still gives me the extra "oomph" to keep my day or mood going. I started to be addicted in those days where the early morning cramming mattered

A Junkyard Shoot

Junkyard
MMDA Junkyard
I was so excited for the past few days for the photoshoot that was set before the holidays began. So excited that I forgot to take my medication just in case my migraine attacks.
